The hub configuration of the sprocket can vary, it can be single hub, double hub or any other. The number of teeth in the sprocket can also vary. The teeth of sprockets are hardened for optimum life of the component.

It is used for creating a power transmission chain drives, for transmitting mechanical power from one rotating shaft to another. Minimum two sprockets are installed in the chain drive with a roller chain that interlocks with the sprocket teeth. Power Transmission Sprocket with more teeth can carry heavier loads.
